I purchased this 1947 Logan Model 825 lathe directly from the barn of a friend. It belonged to a long deceased uncle and had not been used for at least a decade. From it’s time in the barn, the lathe was covered in mouse and bird droppings and every bare metal surface was rusty.
WOW!!! That’s awesome!! I grew up in my Grandfather’s and later Dad’s machine shop in Bristol, RI.; J.F. Huestis, Inc in the 60’s, now “Huestis Manufacturing”. So I have a special place in my heart for all machines, especially old cast iron machines. Very cool.
Thanks. Old Logan lathes are easy to restore. Many parts are still available from Logan Actuator, which is operated by the son and grandson of the founder.
