Brought this 1976 Yamaha Moto-Bike home following our trip to Vintage Days. It belongs to my cousin. I’m planning to restore it for him.

Hi David, I just bought a moto bike frame and was wondering where you bought the new wheels and tires.
Regards Brian
Hi Brian,
All of the moto bikes that I restored had wheels. I don’t think tires with the original tread pattern are still produced. The tires I used on my restorations were Sunlite MX Billboard that I obtained mailorder. At the time, I think they were about $10.00 each.
Hi Gary, I’m done with Moto-Bikes for a while. I’m don’t currently have any and am not actively looking for any more. Of the five that I’ve restored, only two were mine and they’ve both been sold. The ones that I owned both came from Craigslist, one from Hagerstown, MD and the other from Seattle, WA. They pop up for sale on eBay pretty often. Regards, David.
I remember seeing those back “in the day”. I believe they were not well received by bicycle riders because of the additional weight and the inefficiency due to the suspension systems. Active suspensions tend to absorb pedal energy rather than letting it transfer to the rear wheel.
I am surprised at how heavy it is – 44 lbs. Kindly stated, it’s probably more of a stylistic design than a functional one.
